About Yapak Travel and Leisure

Yapak Travel & Leisure Magazine (YTL) is a bi-monthly travel and lifestyle magazine
that goes further and deeper than your ordinary travel magazine.

YTL's main goals are:
1. To encourage a rethinking of Philippine tourism and its impact on communities
and the environment;
2. To espouse traveler awareness on his/her impact and responsibilities to the people
and ecosystems he/she visits;
3. To promote creative spaces, and organizations and establishments who do their part
to work for environmental conservation, community development, and responsible
tourism;
4. To promote this amazing country, the Philippine's rich culture and lush flora and
fauna, and its kind and hospitable peoples; and,
5. To encourage creative expression, and a renewed way of seeing the country's
tourist hotspots.

This is a start. Yapak Travel & Leisure: an idea that brought together friends; made
us get down to work and do what our passions dictate; separated those that are
true and real and "not-about-the-money" from others who were among us at the
start but did not really take on why Yapak was born in the first place. And here we
are. Muddied and sweating, it's been a long trek.

Yapak is about enjoying and appreciating our country, but doing so responsibly.
And responsible travel is not a downer. It's that extra high you get when you
know you did the right thing. There is so much to appreciate about the Philippines;
and so many ways to give back to the habitat we visit and the lives we touch.

So here we go. Pack up your bags. Let your feet follow where your heart
and mind lead.
